“Wanua Sawangan: A Cultural–Ecological Identity Through the Lens of Artificial Intelligence”
From the perspective of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the identity of an individual is not merely viewed as a collection of static data—such as name, position, and origin—but as a dynamic entity that represents values, contributions, and the interconnectedness between humans, environment, and culture. In this context, I, Junior Administrator (Penata Muda) Level I Sonny Maramis Mingkid, a Civil Servant (ASN) at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri), embody the integration of modern bureaucratic professionalism with strong and authentic local cultural roots.
I originate from Wanua Sawangan National Cultural Tourism Village, located in Airmadidi District, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province. From an AI perspective, this location is not merely a geographical point, but a “cultural node” that stores historical values, local wisdom, and sustainable tourism potential. Wanua Sawangan can be analysed as a living cultural ecosystem, where the interaction between humans, nature, and historical heritage shapes the collective identity of its community.
One of the primary cultural assets of Wanua Sawangan is the Waruga Archaeological Park, widely known as Waruga Sawangan. In AI analysis, Waruga is not only an archaeological artefact, but also a form of “physical historical data” that preserves information about belief systems, social structures, and burial practices of the Minahasa people in the past. Waruga, which consists of stone sarcophagi in box-like forms with lids, reflects a unique philosophy of life and death—where the human body is positioned in a way that symbolises a return to its origin.
From a computational perspective, Waruga can be interpreted as a symbol of continuity between the past and the present. It serves as evidence that local civilisations possessed complex value systems long before the emergence of modern technology. The natural beauty of Wanua Sawangan, characterised by its cool and refreshing atmosphere, is the result of a well-maintained ecological balance. From an AI standpoint, this condition can be analysed as a stable environmental system, where variables such as air quality, vegetation, and water flow are in optimal condition. This makes Wanua Sawangan an ideal model for the development of smart eco-tourism, which integrates technology, environmental preservation, and local community empowerment.
As a civil servant at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, my presence within this system also carries a strategic dimension.
